1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using AmicoAI (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. AmicoAI is provided free of charge, without registration or account creation.

2. Description of Service

AmicoAI is a conversational AI companion that learns from interactions and adapts to individual users. The Service is provided "as is" and is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Key characteristics:

• No account registration required
• All conversation data stored exclusively in the user's browser (localStorage)
• AI responses are generated in real time by a third-party LLM provider
• Service is free; optional donations accepted via Ko-fi

3. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

• Be at least 13 years of age, or have parental consent
• Not use the Service for illegal purposes or to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or overload the Service
• Not use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to interact with the Service
• Understand that AI-generated responses may contain errors, biases, or inaccuracies

4. Limitation of Liability

AmicoAI is provided for entertainment and companionship purposes. It is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or psychological).

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The developer is not liable for:

• Inaccuracies or errors in AI-generated responses
• Emotional or psychological reliance on the AI beyond reasonable personal use
• Service interruptions or unavailability
• Loss of conversation history due to browser cache clearing
• Any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the Service

5. Intellectual Property

AmicoAI branding and software: The name "AmicoAI", logo, website design, and user interface are the intellectual property of the developer. The source code is proprietary and not publicly available.

User-generated content: Conversations between the user and AmicoAI remain the user's data. The developer claims no ownership over user conversation content. Since all data is stored locally, users retain full control.

AI-generated content: Responses generated by the LLM are not subject to copyright claims by the developer. Users may freely share and use AI-generated responses from their conversations.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third-party providers:

• LLM API provider: Processes text messages and returns responses. The developer is not responsible for content generated by the AI model, which is subject to the provider's own content policies.
• Pixabay API: Used for profile image generation. Only keyword queries are transmitted, without personal data.
• Ko-fi: Optional donation platform. No user data is shared with Ko-fi by the Service.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to AmicoAI. All conversation data is stored exclusively in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to the developer's servers. Read the full Privacy Policy and GDPR Register for details.

8. Modifications and Termination

The developer reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

The developer reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any reason.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Italian courts.
